I bought this a long time ago but for the life of me I can't understand why it is almost twice the cost of the newer definitive edition.
That being said Ages III is not recommended. Ages II can be fun because it does not try to do too much but is straight forward and intuitive. All in all I own both of the Ages III games and have decided that they are not fun. Ages II will do this but you have to be at the hard level. Once you beat them back while you are still licking your wounds it attacks again with surprisingly large numbers similar to the first attack while you are just trying to heal your troops that are left from the last battle. Hopefully, you'll get your card benefits before the AI descends on you with more troops that you have been able to muster. Graphics are good and there are also things like cards that you can play once or more to get extra stuff if you can figure out the system.
